It’s ok!
It’s completely ok to be open and honest with yourself.
Not in a critical, judgmental and comparison sense but in the sense of discovery.
What are you observing?
What are you learning?
What are you being?
What are you becoming?
What if you were to track that information like you would track all of your discoveries if we’re in hot pursuit of hidden treasure?
Some freak out when the word “Journal” is used.
Call it whatever you like;
It’s your discovery log, your treasure map, your honest personal observation log, your “top secret” logistic log that any intruder must be eliminated if found viewing.
How can you advance if you do not keep an idea of where you are on the trail?
With excellent record keeping you can always begin the new day from where you left off yesterday.
(Use it similarly to how Lewis and Clark would have used a similar item to trace and map their trail exploring and surveying the Louisiana purchase and to see if there was a waterway that connected the east all the way to the Pacific.)
They always knew where they were by what they had tracked and mapped from yesterday so they could begin from where they are on the next day.
You can use your logistical personal life tracking document as a help to you.
There is not enough time in life for a lot of backtracking.
A simple detour could take you years to get back to where you were.
My dad used to always say; if you are hunting elephants do not go off the trail for squirrels.
I have been learning to use and love the Remarkable Paper Pro (a European company called Remarkable)
with the magnetically attached marker pen that has a digital eraser on it.
It sounds and feels like you are writing on paper with an iPad size screen.
You store everything in digital files and can transfer them electronically.
Also instantly highlight in color, write in different colors, and myriad writing style type pens.
My beginning was with the Remarkable 2, three years ago, the Paper Pro is an amazing advancement, they even make a small size purse type model.
I am not paid or supported by Remarkable, actually wish I was because their product has uniquely fit into my recording of my life’s journey.
They provided a learning portal that has taught me how to value human words and symbols and how to use them to track and plan my latest tracking adventures of my way through life.
The main thing is to find what works for you and makes it easy to track your life adventure.
Starting over every day is like adding another chapter to your adventure.
Notice the thoughts, the intentions, the challenges you faced and overcame yesterday.
Set your course of discovery for today; of course how you live and be, in each moment including at work, in relationships, on career goals, and general ideas of making a living, recreation, etc., etc., will also fit into the mix.
The key is, who will you consistently be, as you move through each of those roles.
Could it be more than just what you do and the inflection point actually being how you do what you do?
Track it and then advance it.
It’s ok, your story is definitely worth your time.
